Weekend Away to Eastbourne 
winners - Christmas 2011

Grandparents Ray and Shirley Strong were the lucky winners of the fantastic Christmas Weekend Away competition - thanks to the Eastbourne Arndale Centre and the Sussex Express. Ray and Shirley, who live in Chiddingly, were thrilled when they won the mini break for four in Eastbourne because it meant they could treat two of their grandchildren to a fun packed weekend just before Christmas.
The couple's prize comprised a two night stay at the award winning Mowbray Hotel in Eastbourne, £300 worth of gift vouchers to spend in the Eastbourne Arndale Centre, four tickets to see the pantomime Robin Hood (coutesy of Eastbourne Borough Council) at the Devonshire Park Theatre and a pre theatre dinner at Pomodoro e Mozzarella.
Grandchildren Megan, aged nine, and Olivia, aged six had the time of their lives. It was Olivia's first visit to a panto and Megan's evening was complete when she was picked to go on stage with the stars of the show.
Mrs Strong said "I would like to thank the Arndale Centre for a wonderful weekend. We thought the hotel was lovely and the children were very excited by it all."
Bill Plumridge, Centre Manager said: "I'm delighted that Mr & Mrs Strong had such a great weekend with their grandchildren. It's a great time of year to get away for a mini break because the build up to Christmas is always so hectic."
