Children with Cancer Fund has been chosen as this year’s Christmas charity that will benefit from spare coins donated by shoppers when they visit the Eastbourne Arndale Centre’s festive display.
The display, next to Shades restaurant, features a magical winter theme, and every year a different charity is chosen to benefit from the generosity of shoppers over the Christmas period.
Children with Cancer Fund, which is based in Polegate is run by a small group of friendly staff and volunteers. The aim of the charity is to grant wishes to children up to the age of eighteen, and their families, who have, or have had, cancer and who primarily live in East Sussex, Brighton and Hove. Wishes can be practical, medical or fun and made to individual families as well as supporting a group together by giving them quality family time.
Chris Downton, from the charity, said: “We are thrilled to have been chosen as this year’s charity. Every penny raised will be spent on helping families so we are very grateful to everyone who donates their spare coins this Christmas.”
Arndale Centre Manager Bill Plumridge said: “Children with Cancer Fund is a fantastic local charity and does such an incredible job for local families.”
