Colleagues at Sainsbury’s Eastbourne have raised £500 to support East Sussex Foster Care Association. The fundraising activities including a tombola and second hand book sale took place on the 2nd and 3rd of September outside the front of the store.

East Sussex Foster Care Association are Sainsbury’s Eastbourne’s Local Charity of the year and this was the first fundraising activity that the store had organised. There was added excitement around the store as the charities patron gold winning figure skater Jayne Torvil came down on the Saturday to help raise awareness of the charity.

Liz Attwell the store manager said:

“Everyone at Sainsbury’s Eastbourne would like to thank all the customers who kindly donated money and supported the event. This was a fantastic way to launch our partnership and we look forward to future fundraising events. We would also like to thank David Lloyds, Middle Farm and Drusilla’s who kindly donated prizes for the tombola.’
