Sainsbury’s in the Arndale Center supported East Sussex Fire and Rescue and Eastbourne boxing club as they attempted to beat the treadmill. Sainsbury’s supplied refreshments including water, cakes, sandwiches and other treats to those collecting money. East Sussex fire and Rescue were able to raise £715 for Asher’s Fund, a charity initiative to help a local 4 year old boy with Cerebral Palsy get life changing surgery so that he can walk independently. If anyone would like to find out more the just giving page is Watch manager Scott Saunders who organised the event added, ‘To everyone who came along and supported us, listened to Asher’s story and donated money, thank you, we are so grateful for your generosity. Also, big thanks to Eastbourne Boxing Club for coming on board to help us raise money for Asher, Eastbourne Arndale Centre for allowing us to host the event at the centre, Sainsbury’s for keeping us hydrated and well fed throughout the day, and most importantly the runners from each team. The event couldn’t have happened without them giving up their free time to take part.’
