Legal & General have confirmed that work on the £85 million Arndale Centre extension has been delayed. A spokesperson for L&G insisted they remain focused on delivering the extension, stating that “to say otherwise would be untrue”.

“As is standard practise, we are in discussions with potential contractors regarding final details for the main building phase of the scheme”. “These talks will delay delay our proposed summer start time”.

“We have made great progress to date, which is a sign of our commitment to deliver the shopping centre extension. Work to the new West Entrance has been completed by Kier Construction, and we recently exchanged contracts with New Look.

“Other prestigious signings include Cineworld, Next, H & M, restaurants Nando’s, Carluccio’s, Wagamama, Byron, Chiquito and Frankie & Benny’s. Shoppers will see that Metro Bank is currently shop-fitting.”
